"I'm terribly excited that my father will be seen by the world again. He came from a time where the media was not like it is today and so much of what he did and said was not reported. I believe that with what Geoff and Tony are doing it will definitely bring to everyone's attention the true 'spirit of the game' that my father lived every day of his life, albeit largely unseen. It is wonderful that for the centenary of his birth there will be such a wonderful film that honors him!"

1st February 2015 - centenary of the birth of Sir Stanley Matthews!
Born on 1st February 1915, Sir Stanley Matthews was one of the finest footballers to ever lived and played. He was not only a legendary footballer in his own right but he was a great and compassionate human being too. During his lifetime as one of the world's most admired players the media of his time was not as it is today. Consequently the majority of Stan's great achievements went by unnoticed and uncelebrated. It is therefore intended that the 'Spirit of the Game' movie will be completed in time for the centenary of Stan's birth and will bring to the world's attention more of 'Stan the man', not just 'Stan the legend'! Undoubtedly this will be a time of great celebration, when this remarkable film will pay fitting homage to one of the finest sporting heroes of all-time!
